History

The Golden Valley Medical clinics have a dynamic past and a bright future. The dream of a young physician in 1923 has grown into a vibrant rural health group that serves four communities – Clinton, Warsaw, Windsor and now Osceola – with 25 physicians, a physician assistant and nine nurse practitioners.

Clinic facilities include three fully equipped laboratories and x-ray departments, diagnostic ultrasonography and digital mammography, making us one of the largest group practices in rural Missouri.

Appointments
Our doctors work by appointment, and their time is scheduled through the physician's office. Our staff will attempt to schedule your appointment as conveniently for you as possible. If you are unable to keep your appointment, please call and cancel as soon as possible. This gives other patients the opportunity to see the doctor. If more than one person in your family needs to see the doctor, please let the scheduling staff know when you are scheduling so the proper amount of time will be allowed and the chart(s) will be ready for the doctor.

Worker's Compensation injuries, emergency cases, or acutely ill persons arriving at either clinic during regular hours without an appointment will be seen as soon as possible.

Our doctors try to follow their schedules as closely as possible. However, there will occasionally be emergencies which may delay your appointment. We will always try to keep you informed about any delays.

Registration
If this is your first visit, please arrive at least 15 minutes before your appointment time and check in at the front desk. This allows us time to gather necessary information for your medical record. After your first appointment, please stop at the appropriate reception desk and register each time you come to the clinic. The receptionist will need the following information every time you register: the full name of the patient, the patient's current insurance card and/or Medicaid card, and your current mailing address. If your insurance requires a co-pay, you will be asked to pay it prior to receiving services.

Friday, 8 a.m. - 4:45 p.m.
Saturday, 8 a.m. to 2:45 p.m.

The Golden Valley Walk-In Clinic in Clinton is staffed by a family nurse practitioner. It's designed for prompt care, on a first-come, first-served basis, when you experience a minor illness or injury. Appointments are not scheduled, however, patients are welcome to call ahead and assess the general availability of the practitioner. All patients will "walk-in" for caring and professional services. The walk-in clinic should not replace your primary care physician, but when your doctor is unavailable, the walk-in clinic is ready to get you in and out and back to your busy life. Services are covered by most medical benefit plans. The standard office visit co-pay applies.

All locations are closed the following holidays: New Year's Day, Memorial Day, Independence Day, Labor Day, Thanksgiving and Christmas.

A physician will be on call at the Golden Valley Memorial Hospital on days when the clinic is closed due to a holiday. All clinics are closed on Sunday.

 

Walk-In Clinic Services

The Walk-In Clinic serves patients age 6 months and older. The Clinic includes treatment for, but is not limited to the following:

Eye infections Stomach Problems (constipations, diarrhea)
Ear infections Minor cuts, scrapes, burns
Colds Poison ivy
Bronchitis and respiratory illness Skin rashes
Sore throat Insect bites
Sinus infections Chicken pox

Swimmer's ear

Minor sunburns
Flu symptoms Cold sores
Athletes foot

Other services include physicals (sports, school, daycare), flu shots (when available), sprains and strains, fish hook removal, pregnancy tests, ear wash and adult immunizations (Tetanus, etc).

The Walk-In Clinic Services do not include:

Narcotic Prescriptions (pain pills) Mental health (anxiety / depression
Routine medication refills Care of pregnant patient
Chronic (long-term) Pain appointments Orthotic / Prosthetic care
Neck or back (spinal) conditions Anxiety Medication
Workman's Compensation (work/job injury) Cuts on the face or hands

Clinic Departments

Business office
The business office provides a variety of services, including assistance with personal accounts, filing personal insurance and handling other third-party payments such as Medicaid, Worker's Compensation and Veteran's Affairs. The staff will always be glad to answer any questions you may have about your account.

Diagnostic ultrasound
The trained staff in our ultrasound department prepares diagnostic studies under the direction of the physician. The results are given to the physician, who discusses them with the patient.

Laboratory
Our clinic laboratory has trained staff who perform the tests requested by your provider. We utilize state-of-the-art laboratory equipment and integrated information systems. Our laboratory consistently receives certificates of accreditation from the Commission on Office Laboratory Accreditation and the Clinical Laboratory Improvements Amendments.

Medical records
Maintaining one consolidated record ensures that all medical care given at the clinic is a matter of record for any of our physicians who may see the patient. All information in your medical record is confidential.

Imaging
The imaging department takes and develops the diagnostic x-rays requested by your doctor. It is staffed by a certified x-ray technologist under the supervision of a radiologist, a physician specially trained in this field. Your x-rays are part of your medical record and are kept electronically.

Hospitalization

If you require hospitalization for medical or surgical treatment, your clinic physician will make the arrangements for your admission. Any business matters regarding payment of the hospital account are discussed with the hospital admitting department during your admission. Please remember that the hospital and the clinic are separate businesses, and you will receive a bill from each. The clinic bill will include the medical care administered by your doctor during your hospital stay. You may receive tests that require a physician, other than your family doctor, to perform and/or to interpret.
