Clinton, MO. – (September 19, 2024) – Golden Valley Memorial Healthcare (GVMH) is proud to announce that Krista Yeggy, DO, Obstetrics and Gynecology, has received board certification from the American Board of Obstetrics and Gynecology (ABOG).
The American Board of Obstetrics and Gynecology is a non-profit organization that certifies obstetricians and gynecologists (OB/GYNs) in the United States and Canada. It supports physicians in fostering the highest quality standards in women's healthcare.
Board certification is a voluntary activity. Physicians who decide to become board certified are choosing to enhance their medical expertise beyond medical state licensure. To become board certified by ABOG, a physician must pass a written test to demonstrate that he or she has obtained the special knowledge and skills required for the medical and surgical care of women. He or she must also show experience in treating women's health before taking the certifying oral examination. In addition, the examiners review the physician's cases over the past year.
Yeggy received a Doctor of Osteopathic Medicine degree from Kirksville College of Osteopathic Medicine at A.T. Still University in Kirksville, MO and a Bachelor of Arts in Exercise Science with a Chemistry Minor from Wichita State University, Wichita, KS.
“We appreciate Dr. Yeggy’s dedication to achieving this impressive certification,” said Savanna Facklam, Executive Director of Ambulatory and Telehealth Services at GVMH. “All her work for this certification demonstrates her commitment to continuous learning, professional development and being one of the best in her field.”
