Clinton, Mo. – (Dec. 15, 2021) – Golden Valley Memorial Healthcare (GVMH) is pleased to announce that Zahra Rehman, MD, has received her board certification in rheumatology from the American Board of Internal Medicine (ABIM).
Board certification from ABIM is the highest standard in internal medicine and its subspecialties, signifying that physicians have demonstrated to their peers and the public that they have the clinical judgement, skills and attitudes essential for providing excellent patient care.
Receiving board certification is voluntary and includes a rigorous exam to test a physician’s ability to diagnose and treat patients with a broad range of conditions. To maintain certification, physicians can participate in activities that assess knowledge of the latest scientific developments as well as changes in practice and specialty areas.
Dr. Rehman attended medical school at Ross University School of Medicine in Portsmouth, Dominica, West Indies. She then completed a Rheumatology Fellowship at the University of Kansas in Kansas City, Kansas, as well as an Internal Medicine Chief Residency and Internal Medicine Residency at Eastern Virginia Medical School in Norfolk, Virginia.
“We appreciate Dr. Rehman’s dedication to achieve this prestigious certification,” said Kyle Adkins, COO at GVMH. “Her strong commitment to providing the highest quality of care to her patients is something that separates our team from others.”
