Clinton, Mo. – (Feb. 11, 2020) – Golden Valley Memorial Healthcare (GVMH) is pleased to announce that it has added maternal fetal telemedicine services through its partnership with HCA Midwest Health, Kansas City’s largest health network and leader in healthcare.
Maternal fetal medicine focuses on managing health concerns of the mother and fetus before, during and shortly after pregnancy. This service will allow GVMH to perform prenatal tests and provide treatments as necessary in both low-risk and high-risk pregnancies. With these capabilities, GVMH will also be able to assist with pre-existing health concerns, as well as complications caused by pregnancy.
GVMH is pleased to have Elizabeth Wickstrom, MD, a maternal fetal medicine specialist at HCA Midwest Health, to help care for its tiniest patients. She has more than 25 years of experience with specialized expertise in diabetes, fetal abnormalities and recurrent pregnancy loss. In addition, she has a strong emphasis on partnering with obstetricians in high risk pregnancy care. Dr. Wickstrom received her medical degree from University of Nebraska College of Medicine, completed her residency in obstetrics and gynecology at Saint Luke’s Hospital and her fellowship in maternal fetal medicine at Northwestern University Medical School.
“We deliver more than 380 babies each year and this is an excellent addition to our birthing center as we continue to expand our facilities and services to meet the needs of our community and patients,” said Lynnette Hayes, MSN, BSN, RN, chief nursing officer at GVMH.
