Clinton, Mo. – (July 14, 2020) – Due to the rapid increase in positive cases of COVID-19 in Henry County and the surrounding areas, Golden Valley Memorial Healthcare (GVMH) and the Henry County Health Center (HCHC) are calling upon residents to help prevent the spread of COVID-19.
“It is extremely important that we all work together to protect the people we care about the most from COVID-19,” said Craig Thompson, CEO at GVMH. “For months, the team at GVMH has been working diligently in the fight against COVID-19, but we also need your commitment to following the precautions to get through this crisis.”
To prevent the spread of COVID-19, GVMH and HCHC are asking residents to wear a face covering anytime you are in public or around others, wash your hands frequently and practice social distancing by staying six feet away from other people when possible. Both organizations are also asking residents to limit social gatherings to 20 people until August to slow the spread.
“As the number of cases of COVID-19 is growing in our communities, it is critical that everyone wear a face covering while in public and remember to practice social distancing to help prevent the spread,” said Peggy Bowles, Administrator, HCHC. “While conducting surveillance, the HCHC Epidemiologist is finding more individuals testing positive for COVID-19 that show little to no symptoms, yet they still may be contagious.”
