Clinton, Mo. – (April 17, 2025) – Golden Valley Memorial Healthcare (GVMH) is proud to announce that Kimberly Jones, Surgeon, is now board certified with the American Board of Surgery in general surgery.
To achieve board certification in general surgery, surgeons must complete an accredited residency program, pass the General Surgery Qualifying Exam (GSQE) and the General Surgery Certifying Exam (GSCE), and demonstrate their commitment to lifelong learning and quality patient care.
Receiving board certification is voluntary and includes a rigorous exam to test a physician’s ability for performance of operations and procedures. General surgery is a discipline that requires knowledge of and responsibility for the preoperative, operative, and post-operative management of patients with a broad spectrum of diseases, including those which may require nonoperative, elective or emergency surgical treatment.
Jones received a Doctor of Medicine degree from Saba University School of Medicine in Saba, Caribbean Netherlands and completed her general surgery residency at the University of Missouri, Kansas City, MO. She also received her Bachelor of Arts degree from Washington University, St. Louis, MO.
“We appreciate Dr. Jones’ dedication to go above and beyond to complete this certification and her commitment to providing the highest quality care,” said Molly Teichman, Chief Operating Officer at GVMH.
