Golden Valley Memorial Healthcare Employee of the Month Exemplifies Golden Standard of Care

Clinton, MO – (Nov. 14, 2024)Golden Valley Memorial Healthcare (GVMH) has named Richard (Richie) Dysinger, Skilled Maintenance II, as its Employee of the Month.

Working in the Engineering department over the last two years, Dysinger has quickly left his mark on the entire GVMH community with his positive attitude and smiling face.

Kurt Bolinger, Assistant Director of Engineering at GVMH, commented, “Richie seldom misses work unexpectedly and always volunteers to cover open shifts — even if the shift requires working on weekends, holidays or overnight.”

Placing patients’ comfort and safety first, Dysinger prioritizes work orders based on the impact each job will have on the patient experience. He is often the first to be called in and the last to leave when GVMH is faced with inclement weather. On snowy days, he has spent hours pushing and shoveling snow to ensure patients, staff and visitors can safely enter or exit.

Dysinger is never too busy to remember GVMH’s mission and values. One day, as he was walking through the Clinton Clinic’s first floor waiting area, he saw a little girl whose wagon wheel was broken. She was very upset, which prompted him to grab his tools and proactively fix it. These small acts of kindness make an impression on our patients.

Yet Dysinger does not just touch the lives of patients in a positive way, his coworkers also appreciate his willingness to learn new tasks, positive spirit and random acts of kindness. Each year, Dysinger purchases flowers to help a GVMH Food and Nutrition Services employee celebrate her birthday. He includes the entire Engineering department on the card and never asks for any of his colleagues to contribute to the gift. He simply enjoys making people in his life feel appreciated — never hesitating to share recognition for good deeds with others.

As the Employee of the Month, Dysinger received a GVMH gift and his name will be engraved on a plaque to be permanently displayed on the main campus. He is also one of 12 finalists for the 2024-2025 Employee of the Year award.
