Clinton, MO. – (December 5, 2024) – Golden Valley Memorial Healthcare (GVMH) is delighted to announce Julie Balke, RN, has been promoted to Director of Education and Employee Health.
Working side-by-side with the other educators in her department, Balke will act as the administrator of the current Learning Management System, including the creation of new computer-based learning modules. She will continue to promote learning opportunities for GVMH team members — whether it be for ongoing required programs like CPR training or conceptualizing new opportunities for staff to stay abreast of the latest healthcare innovations, regulatory readiness best practices, and more.
Balke is ready to transition her career to education. Having served as an RN for more than 25 years (eight years at GVMH working in the Birthing Center and as an Infusion Nurse in the Outpatient Clinic), she is excited to tackle a new challenge. Her role gives her the ability to impact the entire organization versus just one unit as she oversees the Simulation Training Lab and Employee Health Programs; acts as the Chair of the Education Council; and serves on the Leadership Development Institute Council, Quality Steering Team, Workplace Violence Committee and Quality Council.
"I am thrilled Balke has been promoted to Director of Education,” says Jessica Henderson, Chief Human Resources Officer at GVMH. “We are excited to see how she applies her expertise from educating patients to educating employees. I’m confident her years of experience as a leader and mentor in previous positions will help her excel in this new role.”
Balke earned her Bachelor of Science in Nursing from the University of Central Missouri in Warrensburg. She also holds BLS and ACLS certificates.
