Clinton, Mo. – (June 29, 2020) – Effective July 6, 2020, Golden Valley Memorial Healthcare (GVMH) will require all patients and visitors to wear a face covering or hold a tissue over their nose and mouth while at its facilities.
All patients and visitors should bring a face covering with them to GVMH and plan to use it during their entire visit.
GVMH will also continue to screen all patients and visitors upon entry for potential COVID-19 symptoms, such as cough, fever, chills, muscle pain, shortness of breath, difficulty breathing, sore throat and new loss of taste or smell.
For visitation, GVMH is still allowing one parent, guardian or support person per patient.
“We implemented this face covering policy per CDC recommendations to help prevent the spread of COVID,” said Craig Thompson, CEO at GVMH. “Many people who have COVID do not have symptoms and can transmit the virus to others before showing symptoms. This means that the virus can spread between people interacting in close proximity. Our entire staff wears masks because we care about our families, friends and neighbors and want to protect our communities. We now require that our patients
and visitors do the same.”
