Clinton, Mo. – (March 15, 2019) – Golden Valley Memorial Healthcare (GVMH) is pleased to announce its partnership with Research Medical Center and its Comprehensive Stroke Center, a part of HCA Midwest Health, the leading healthcare provider in the Kansas City area, to advance its capabilities for the diagnosis and treatment of stroke.
At GVMH, patients and caregivers now have 24-hour, on-call access to prominent stroke and neuroscience experts through the Tele-Stroke Network at Research Medical Center. In conjunction with reviewing CT scans, a specially trained neurologist will assess and monitor a patient’s heart rate and breath sounds, observe mobility in arms and legs and check vision and hearing through a telemedicine robot. The administration of clot-busting drugs and other life-saving clinical decisions can also be made quickly between local caregivers and the tele-neurologist.
