Craig Thompson, Chief Executive Officer at Golden Valley Memorial Healthcare (GVMH), has been with the organization for more than 20 years. He is an experienced leader with a demonstrated history in the healthcare industry. Thompson is skilled in understanding Medicare and Medicaid, hospital operations, healthcare management and managed care.
Prior to his role as Chief Executive Officer, Thompson served as the Chief Operating Officer, Assistant Administrator and Chief Compliance Officer, and Director of Rehabilitation and Wellness Services at GVMH.
Thompson earned a Bachelor of Science degree in Health Science and Physical Therapy from the University of Missouri. He also holds a Master of Science in Administration degree with emphasis in Health Services Management from Central Michigan University and is board certified in healthcare management through the American College of Healthcare Executives.
He has been awarded for numerous achievements including the American College of Healthcare Executives Senior-Level Healthcare Executive Regent’s Award, J.C. Smith Great People Award and Missouri Community Betterment Adult Leader Award. Thompson is also a fellow in the American College of Healthcare Executives and serves on the Clinton Airport Board, Advisory Board for Compass Health and University of Missouri School of Health Professions Alumni Board. In addition, he was the Vice Chairman for the MIZZOU Legislative Network Committee, as well as past President of the Clinton School District Board of Education and Greater Clinton Area Chamber of Commerce. Thompson currently serves as a board member for the Missouri Hospital Association and is a member of the Region 6 Regional Policy Board for the American Hospital Association.
